General Forum Rules for all Lounges (04/18/05) *READ*

We want everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy their stay here in the CMM forum, that is why we have to have rules and everyone must read them and follow them.


The Don't's

1. Don't insult or attack other members
No name calling etc.

2. Don't bash artists or other celebrities
Don't start negative threads about any celebrity.

3. Don't try to avoid the censors
The censors are there for a reason, do NOT alter words to get around them.

4. No topics about sexual stuff
We want this forum to be safe and enjoyable to everyone so no sexual discussion allowed.

5. No nudity
It doesn't matter if it's a Christina picture, NO NUDITY in the forum. Posting porn or links to porn sites is considered a major offense and will get you banned immediately.

6. Don't share or promote bootlegs or copyrighted material in the forum
That includes bootleg videos from concerts, videos from commercial DVDs and studio mp3s and any other copyrighted material.

7. Merchandise and advertising
Selling, trading and asking for merchandise or advertising a business is forbidden everywhere in the forum, also signatures. Minor Members and above can create topics advertising their own non-commercial site/forum/group but only occasionally. Other advertising threads, including threads advertising eBay auctions will be deleted.

8. Don't spam
Don't create numerous threads over the same topics, check the lounge before making a new thread. Don't create a thread just to post links to a celebrity's street team or fan club. Don't create a thread of nonsense.

Spamming by private messages is not allowed either, so do not send random people PMs and ask them to vote for Christina or other non-important things.

9. Don't use a font color other than the default, center/bold/italics etc tags (except in individual words for emphasis) or other font size than the default.


10. English Only
Please talk English only for the sake of moderation and politeness towards other members, unless you post in the foreign language lounges (Spanish, French, German, or Portuguese lounge).

11. Don't start threads criticizing CMM or the CMM staff
Contact us directly if you have something to say or ask. Making a thread in the forum complaining about the moderators/managers WILL GET YOU BANNED.  This rule also applies to other online public forums.

12. Some subforums have their own additional rules
Read them too.


The Do's

1. Do use proper English
Don't type like you're writing a text message, don't post in all caps or use excessive amount of smilies in one post.

2. Do avoid excessive quoting
Quote only one post at a time and only quote a few pictures, not 10 pictures.

3. Do contact any moderators if you see an inappropriate thread
When you think the rules have been broken in a thread and only then.

4. Do write a descriptive thread title
"Look here!" Isn't descriptive.

5. Do use links instead of hotlinking when posting large pictures
Large pictures stretch out the page and they cause the page to load slowly, so please use links instead. The moderators will edit the pictures to links if they are too big.

Avatar + signature rules

Text rule: You can have 3 lines of text with a banner, 6 lines of text without a banner. There can be no gaps between the text except between the banner and text and font size no bigger than 3.

The avatars and signatures and all personal text including usernames have to be appropriate, NO nudity and no sexual language or profanity.  Please also make sure that avatar text is not too long.

If the word is censored in the forum, you CAN'T use it in your signature/avatar/text. This includes the 4-letter words, the b-word (yes we know Christina uses it but you can't.), etc. You also can't use any of the words and censor some of the letters.

Repeated rule breaking regarding the avatars/signatures will lead to temporary and possibly permanent loss of ava/sig rights.


Banning

For a minor offense you will be warned first, repeating the offense or making a major offense will get you banned, temporarily or permanently.

Temporary ban: You can be temporarily banned by a moderator for a minor offense, the time ranging from a few days to a month, it's up to the moderator to decide.

Permanent ban: You can and will be permanently banned for a major offense. You can also be banned from the whole CMM, not just the forum.

Complaining about a ban or other action by a moderator:
Re-registering after being banned is strictly forbidden. Contact a moderator or a manager in the Contact center or by email.


If you think that a rule is unfair, you may contact a Forum Moderator via Contact Center or PM. Keep in mind before you do, however, that the rules we have here are meant to be in the best interest of everyone. There are members of all ages that visit CMM, and we intend to keep a friendly environment. We also want lounges to be as clean as possible to avoid redundancy and overcrowding.
