We're going back to basics...to where it all began

As you have noticed, our Video Palace and Picture Archive have been having problems for about a month now.  All videos and photos (not including thumbnails and HTMLs) which are stored in our Master Server don't work.  We have been trying to fix Master Server this past month, but unfortunately Master Server cannot be fixed, and we cannot afford to pay for another Master Server to store our videos and photos.  So until we find a solution for this, CPA and VP are out of service.

Just in case you didn't know, we have been having financial problems for the past few years now.  Every month we have to pay bills for our Express Server (Forum, HTMLs and other small files) and Master Server (videos, photos, and other big files).  Total monthly fees we have to pay is $330, which makes a total of almost $4,000 each year.  The past 5 years we've been getting about ONLY $300 donation each year from our members, which means Hmers - CMM creator & owner - has to pay about $3,500 out of his pocket each year.  That is a huge sum of money one person has to pay for a hobby.
If you're a Minor Member or above, feel free to check our financial reports and see for yourself how bad it is.  Make sure to check details in each month so you can see that about half of the contributors are Administrators and/or Moderators).

We cannot afford this and cannot let this going on any longer.  Ten (yes! 10!) years ago when CMM started, it was from fans for fans.  Every fans contributed something for the community.  They used to share news, photos, videos, and some of them donated money to help us fund our servers.  The past few years, there are only a handful of people sharing news, photos, videos, or donate money.  Most others just take and give nothing to the community.  Let's take CPA for an example, which gets 300-500 unique hits and 1000-2000 pic views every day.  If each CPA visitor donated $1 a month, we would have more than enough money to cover our monthly fees.  If 1/10 of CPA visitors post one photo to CPA, the handful regular photo uploaders wouldn't have to spend so much time finding and uploading hundreds of photos each month.

For the time being, we have decided to keep our Express Server, which means Forums and websites are still open.  If you are willing and able, please donate to help us pay for the Express Server.  You get 10 CMM membership points for each $1 donation.  We are keeping our Membership levels and will announce later on what we're going to offer for each membership level.
Meanwhile, if you have any videos or photos to share, please post them on our Forum, just like how we used to do before CPA and VP were born.

FYI, we do have a backup of all videos from Video Palace.  As for Picture Archive, our latest backup was from April 2011.  Please contact us if you have all photos from CPA from April 2011 until December 2011.  We currently store the files in our personal hard drives.  As stated above, we have nowhere to store them online since we can't afford to pay for another server.

In conclusion, CMM is now going through a period of reinvention.  We invite all the members to comment and give us feedback in this thread.  Thank you for all your support so far!  Hopefully you guys will keep supporting us so our site can last many more years...

Shortcut to make a contribution is by sending money via PayPal to administrator@christinamultimedia.com.

Make sure you put your username (the name you use to login) in the note/message so we know whom to we should give the benefits.  Your name will be manually added to Contribution Center.

I completely understand.

In fact, I rarely used the video/audio palaces, so I wouldn't be hurt if this just became a forum and that's it. This is the only place online, that has the classic forum format, and has tons of fans who are posting positive stuff about Christina.

Please don't destroy the photos, it's valuable archive.

I understand your concerns but I can't promise any money. I'll think about it though.

For the sake of CMM's huge Photo Archive, could it be possible to give some of those photos to other Christina fan-sites so they could still be found?

Have you tried to contact Christina's management? Couldn't RCA pay for this site?

We don't destroy the archive.  We keep it in our personal hard drive.  We just don't have money to put them online and share them.

I guess they won't because of copyright.  Everything on here is copyrighted to somebody.  People don't think about it but if you look at YouTube for example, many videos are restricted in certain countries or are taken down due to copyright.  A fansite can get away with it but an officially endorsed site would be sued.

^ That is partially correct.  The copyright part is right.  As a matter of fact, CPA already can't have photos from certain agencies.  Some agencies contacted us a few years ago regarding their photos being on our site.  They could sue us if we didn't remove photos from their agencies.

The part that is not so correct is that RCA doesn't have to make our site official in order to fund us.  They can simply make a donation if they want to support us.

this and if someone wants to download a song they can use a downloading serivce website.

just keep this a good active forum. i have only used and love this forum. ive never used the others.

Why don't you use Google Adsense? It can bring you some good money and save the servers!

We did use Google Adsense.  Are you aware that people need to click on the ads in order for us to get money?  Our ads didn't get much click, we got very little money.  It took 3-4 years of Google Adsense before we could get enough money to pay ONE MONTH's server bill. 
On the top of that, about 2 years ago our forum was attacked by spambots.  They posted links to porn sites.  Google Adsense saw that and banned us for "having a site that contains links to porn sites".

How much do you need for putting all videos back there with the best quality avaible for three months? Wouldn't it be enough if I give you a Uploaded.com account for lifetime?
