Main >> FAQ

Can I add an article with no source or that has a completely unknown article date?
All articles must have a source, and the article date is very important except for old articles in which the year, or the year and month will be sufficient.  You should use the Report button at the bottom of the article to notify News Moderators if you happen to know the exact date of an article that does not have an exact date.

Can I copy and submit articles that are listed on other Christina news fansites?
Please submit only primary source articles, NOT the secondary source (i.e., summaries of articles written by fans from Popdirt, Christina Connection, Curlio, The Spoof, etc).  Fansites that write up summaries of news articles are NOT real media articles; they are only fan-written summaries of actual news articles.  All Internet articles added to this site MUST contain a URL for reference purposes as our goal is to be an open archive for everyone to use.  A valid URL also means that the article added is indeed legitimate.  We do not want other webmasters to complain as they work hard on their site and we must respect that.  Very few fan sites operate under the open-sharing principle so please do not go stealing their content.

Can I put articles from here on my site?
Unlike most news sites that hide the source URLs so people have to visit their site to find the news, ChristinaMultimedia is a teamwork-based site that exposes all URLs for reference purposes.  All individuals and sites may use the articles without any need to credit this archive.  We feel that it doesn't matter which site people visit to find their news.  Having articles on more sites will only expose them for more fans to read, which can only be a good thing.  Instead of popularity as the drive that most other sites seek, dedicated help and teamwork is what we find important.

Do I get points for submitting news to the archive?
Yes, membership points are awarded at a rate of 0.50 points per article submitted (1 point/ 2 articles).  Read more about ChristinaMultimedia's membership points at the Membership and Points Page.  Also, the top news poster each month will be awarded with Contributor Benefits for a month.  Read more about contributions HERE.

How can I become a news moderator?
We are looking for people who have a keen eye for spotting mistakes; that is, people who submit error reports of typos, duplicates, missing links, etc. in articles, and also have a good knowledge on how to find new articles (demonstrated by submitting such articles). If you are interested in this position, let us know. We will be on the look out and promote accordingly. Or if the position is opened, you can apply to become a news moderator by clicking HERE.

How come the edit or delete option disappears after 1 day that an article has been submitted?
After 1 day, it is presumed that you have had enough time to make all necessary changes to the article.  If you discover an error or typo after the 1 day period, use the Report button at the bottom of the article to point it out to a News Moderator to correct.

How do I submit a news article?
Before even clicking the SUBMIT NEWS button, click on the SEARCH NEWS button to check for the article you want to submit, as it may have already been submitted.  This is an absolutely neccessary precaution that will prevent most double postings and save News Moderators a lot of time.  Once you have performed a thorough search and are sure the article has not already been posted, you are now ready to submit the article.  Click on the SUBMIT NEWS button at the top, fill out the form, and then press the Add News button. All articles submitted appear instantly, similar to how a forum works.  For details on how to submit news, click HERE.

How do I use the search engine to find a particular article?
CNS now has an Advanced Search Engine which allows you to search for articles with much greater precision.  The basic Search Engine is based on relevance and has been designed such that searching for a word that appears in too many articles will yield no results (i.e. searching for "Christina" will yield no results because all articles contain the word Christina).  We recommend using a word that is uncommon or unique to that particular article, or multiple words to narrow down the search.

I found a duplicate article, what should I do?
If you find a duplicate article, use the Report button at the bottom of the article to point it out to News Moderators so that they can delete it.  Please be sure to include the Article IDs of the two identical (or near-identical) articles.

I submitted a news article yesterday but it disappeared. What happened?
If your article disappeared, it means it has been deleted by a news moderator.  Articles are deleted if they are duplicates or if found to be misplaced or unrelated to Christina.

I'm encountering some very strange errors on the site. What should I do?
Either report them in the Contact Center or in the Bug Reports Forum.

I'm looking for a particular Christina-related news article, what should I do?
You can use the CNS Search Engine to find the article you are looking for in our archive.  Our search engine is based on relevance and has been designed such that searching for a word that appears in too many articles will yield no results (i.e. searching for "Christina" will yield no results because all articles contain the word Christina).  We recommend using multiple words to narrow down the search.

I've seen gossip articles on CNS!
First of all, you need to remember that every CMM members can post articles on CNS.  Some of them might post articles from improper sources.  However, there's CNS moderators team who moderate the news on CNS.
Our goal for CNS is to make archive of Christina articles/news for reference and research.  We can not guarantee that all the News submitted to CNS is 100% accurate.  The CNS Team is working hard to sort the real news from the gossip, which is difficult at times as we have no connection with Christina's management for any official source.
Articles which have a questionnable reliability will be deleted, as they cannot be verified and start baseless rumours.  We will keep the odd 'gossip'-type news, but it will be clearly labelled gossip in order to avoid any confusion.  If you see a Gossip article please use the Report button to bring it to our attention.

Is it possible to view the most recent articles a person has submitted?
The last 10 articles any member has submitted are listed in their CNS Profile.

What are the duties of a News Moderator?
News Moderators' duties are to go through each of the new articles in the Update Listing on the main page everyday.  They have to verify that the news articles are indeed related to Christina, are not duplicates of previous articles, contain no typos, have correct dates, and have valid sources.

What does CNS stand for?
CNS stands for Christina News Source, a part of the ChristinaMultimedia network.

What is the difference between Recent Articles and Recent Updates on the main page?
Recent News are the latest news according to article or published date, while Recent Updates refer to articles that have recently been posted by a member.  For example, if someone submitted an article from 1999, it will appear in the Recent Updates listing under the date it was posted, but NOT under the Recent Articles listing because the article date is in 1999.

Why can't I submit articles to CNS?
You can't submit articles because you got banned from CNS.
Due to the overwhelming number of duplicate articles that are posted, CNS has had to implement a banning system to effectively prevent and manage this problem: 1 duplicate article = 1 day CNS ban.
Use our  Search Engine and Advanced Search Engine to prevent this problem.
Search Tip: search using an uncommon word found in the article rather than searching for a headline.
