Interviewer: With all the kids on MMC, it sounds as if it was like going to summer camp on TV.
Aguilera: It was! I was there for two seasons with Britney Spears and Justin and JC from N Sync. We all became like brothers and sisters.
Did the older kids seem cool? Oh, yeah. Britney and I were the youngest, and we totally looked up to the older kids, especially Keri Russell, who was 15.
What was Keri like back then? She was the firs... |

Nevertheless the Mouse house has been quite the breeding ground for today's young singing sensations, and 18-year old Christina is ready to take her place beside fellow ex-Mouseketeers Britney Spears and *N Sync's Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez.

| Christina Aguilera's Hot Video: "I Was Freezing My Butt Off" - Aug 10, 1999 | Eighteen-year-old Christina Aguilera has chalked up a top candidate for this long, hot summer's signature song with her debut, "Genie In a Bottle," which has been vacationing at number one on the "Billboard" Hot 100 singles chart.
The video has been a popular mainstay on MTV's "Total Request Live" as well, and the clip's idyllic, romantic portrayal of beachside fun was a pretty far cry from what Christina experienced herself, as she recounted to MTV News.
"God, first of all, I was so cold. I was freezing my butt off," Aguilera told MTV News. "It w... |

Someday soon, if all goes well, she hopes to buy a pair of shoes she swears are nothing short of "totally amazing."
It would be her "little splurge," she says.
To celebrate.
For now, there is no time for such frivolity -- with all the photo shoots, the interviews, the live performances, the TV special tapings and, of course, the travel time that comes with being No. 1.
She's lucky she's able to make it home to Wexford once... |

| Christina's World - Aug 16, 1999 | A new teen star has a voice that goes way beyond mere kid stuff
Sometimes the gods of pop music like to play a little joke. Browsing the aisles of a Times Square record store the other day, Christina Aguilera got quite a surprise. Unrecognized amid the hurly-burly of fellow shoppers stood one of her heroes, Fred Durst, leader of the red-hot rock-hop band Limp Bizkit. Aguilera zeroed in, angling for an autograph, but it was not to be: her quarry slipped into the crowd and scurried away. What Durst didn't know is that the petite blond with the big eyes was not just another fan but one of the m... |

| Christina Aguilera - Aug 16, 1999 | Aguilera's sexy, soulful ''Genie in a Bottle'' has already granted her hit-single status. But the powers that be aren't taking any chances with this 18-year-old, preternaturally piped ex-Mouseketeer (yes, another one). They've corralled a magic carpet full of writers and producers for Christina Aguilera, a cannily made pop debut that's meant to reel in both kids and the grown-ups driving them to those 'N Sync and Brandy concerts.
When Aguilera straddles the crossover-appeal fault line (''So Emotional'') she delivers giddily delicious radio pop. But more often, she plays intergenerational Ping... |

| Mary J. Blige Bested by Backstreet - Aug 25, 1999 | She captured the No. 2 slot with sales of 239,000, just a hair behind the Boys in the band, who sold another 243,000 copies of Millennium.
