Nestled in a United Airlines first-class seat, Brit-babe sweetly signed autographs for passengers and crew. Even went out of her way not to wake up her napping next-seat neighbor. The wannabe fashionista sported plaid hip-huggers with a zipper in the front and back, a big white belt, black top and snakeskin boots--plus a lush black fur-collared sweater over the ensemble. | Holiday CD not classic enough - Dec 07, 2000 | My favorite holiday is Christmas. But I do not enjoy it just because of the presents. Most of all, I love the music. And now, best-new-artist Grammy winner Christina Aguilera has added her album ''My Kind of Christmas'' to the huge list of Christmas CDs available.
Ms. Aguilera is the only ''teen queen'' with potential for longevity. I believe she has the truest talent. Her voice is amazing and has even been compared to one of her idols, Mariah Carey.
Ms. Aguilera's album includes 11 tracks, with a mix of Christmas classics and some original songs, including a remix of ''The Christmas Song.... |

| Reviews of stocking-ready releases by Christina Aguilera, Linda Ronstadt, Lynyrd - Dec 21, 2000 | I'd never want to visit Christina Aguilera's house for the holidays, if My Kind of Christmas is any indication of what she's got under the tree. Chilly, forced and overdone, just like the former Mousketeer's maquillage, this mixed bag of modern classics and tarted-up traditional carols -- and one self-penned tune (with four collaborators) -- doesn't conjure up a single warm and fuzzy image of chestnuts roasting on an open fire or Jack Frost nipping at your nose. It's just another forum to showcase Aguilera's formidable bag of vocal gymnast

Aguilera's compact disc, "My Kind of Christmas," features the Wexford teen-turned-pop star singing original songs, old carols such as "O Holy Night, " and, as her publicists tout, "Mel Torme's immortal 'The Christmas Song,' reinterpreted by Christina as an up-tempo dance track."
Production of the CD involved the work of a 70-piece orchestra, Grammy-award-winning songwriters, and a host of production people and back-up artists.

So what if moxie music types say Christina Aguilera has more It than her tube-topped counterpart--who's getting more airplay? Clearly, C.A. has a career beyond satisfying teens who stampede stadiums. Do Brit and Just? Well, they'll always have each other. I hear marriage is in the cuties' cards. But, don't listen to me.
