Christina Aguilera has issued a lawsuit against a record company who are bidding to release material recorded by the pop princess when she was just 14.
Aguilera, who has just begun recording her second album in LA, filed a lawsuit in California against the release of a compilation entitled 'Just Be Free', which is due out in June.
The subjects of the suit are Warlock Records and its affiliates Platinum Recordings and JFB Music, who are accused with improper use of her name and license on the album.
Aguilera's lawyer Carla Christoferson, speaking to MTV, claimed much of the album consists of material recorded for a demo when she was barely into her teens.
We're trying to stop them from releasing these early recordings which is not the quality she is associated with right now. They are trying to boot strap on the success of Christina Aguilera.
Christofferson said that Warlock Records had filed their own suit in New York, as they bid to push through the release of 'Just Be Free'. |
