US R&B star K-Ci has been sentenced to two years probation after grabbing himself at different stages of erection before a crowd consisting of hundreds of teenage girls and Christina Aguilera.
Cedric 'K-Ci' Hailey, one-half of K-Ci and Jo-Jo, pleaded no contest to four charges of lewd conduct in a Los Angeles court in May and was convicted on Friday.
Hailey was originally charged with 24 separate counts of lewd conduct and indecent exposure, after he dropped his trousers during a radio station concert in December at the Shrine Auditorium.
Around 4,000 people were in the audience, including a large number of children, Aguilera, who was also performing on the show, 98 Degrees and Third Eye Blind.
Hailey, who was said by his manger to have got caught-up in the moment, caused about 150 people to flee the 'Jingle Ball' as a result of his actions. He has also been told to pay almost $1000 in court fines as part of the sentence.
According to reports on Billboard, a case is still pending against KIIS radio, who broadcast and hosted the event, from the parents of a young girl who was at the show. They allege that billing the event as a family event was inappropriate, citing the fact that in 1993, Hailey pleaded guilty to a sexual contact charge. |
