| Christina's in town doing photoshoots - Aug 2002 | | HERE SHE COMES: Christina Aguilera's in town for photo shoots, gearing up to finally unveil "her baby." That's how record industry insiders are referring to the singer's much-anticipated album, on which she's staking her transition from pop princess to artist-in-command. We can tell you the first single, "Dirrty," featuring hip-hop star Redman, will show up next month along with a "Dirrty" video directed by Paul Hunter. The song is described as having a very urban feel. The still-untitled RCA album now has an Oct. 29 release date -- and you can be sure the firecra... |

| Christina in Vibe's 10th Anniversary Issue a couple of times - Aug 2002 | | There are 10 collectible covers (Dre, MJB, Neptunes w/ Timb and Missy, R. Kelly, Jigga, Diddy, Nelly, TLC...I forgot the last two peeps). Anyway, they talk about their past "Up Next" (I think it was) features and refer to the artists listed as the who's who in today's "urban music" (their words). Christina was one of them. I don't have my mag in front of me, but they quoted her from a past '99 issue saying that she didn't think that prancing in a bra and hot pants was empowering, she wants more emphasis to be on her talent and not her body and that she wants to be a good ro... |

| Aug 2002 | Don't know if this was already posted but my sister just got the September 2003 issue of Latina magazine and in the "Latinas Speak Up!" section where readers send in letters, one reader wrote about Christina. This is what it said
Un Poquito Latina? I found this comment about Christina Aguilera in the music issue["Gettin' Loud!" July 2003 issue] to be offensive: "She's half Ecuadorean but is she really Latina enough?" I'm half Puerto Rican myself, and I am definitely a Latina. I celebrate my roots throughly. But all of my life, my mixed heritage has brought questi... |

| David Foster talks about Chistina - Aug 01, 2002 | ET: If you were looking at some of the new teen talent that's out there today, be it *NSYNC, BACKSTREET BOYS, 98 DEGREES, BRITNEY (SPEARS), or JESSICA (SIMPSON), who would you consider to be someone that you would have taken underneath your wing?
DAVID: I happen to think the guys in *NSYNC sing great. I've worked with them. The Backstreet Boys, I think are good, 98 Degrees, all of those groups. But for the girls, there's only one. The girl that really is going to last, in my opinion -- and it's the person that I've asked -- I'm going to do the 2002 Olympic song for Salt Lake -- and the girl ... |

| Bootleg Remixes: Music's Latest Craze - Aug 02, 2002 | "Smells Like Booty." "A Stroke Of Genie-us." "I Just Can't Get Enough Pills." The song titles say it all.
Music's latest craze is certainly a twisted one. Some are even calling it bastard pop. How else do you explain Destiny's Child singing "Bootylicious" over Nirvana's sacred "Smells Like Teen Spirit"?
The new genre-crossing format, however, has an obvious father in Napster, Gnutella and their controversial file-sharing siblings, who have fed the frenzy by making a capella and instrumental tracks available to any wannabe producer with a dece... |

| Christina Gets "Dirty" With Redman - Aug 07, 2002 | While Britney Spears is "not a girl, not yet a woman," Christina Aguilera is of legal age and ready to get down 'n' dirty.
In mid-September, Aguilera will drop "Dirty," the first single from her still-untitled fourth record, which is now scheduled for release in late October. The song was produced and written by Aguilera and Rockwilder (who co-produced last year's hit remake of "Lady Marmalade") and features rapping by Redman, a publicist said.
At the end of the month, the brazen pop songstress will shoot a video for the track in Los Angeles with "Lady Marm... |

| Christina Aguilera Is 'Dirty' - Aug 08, 2002 | In keeping with her new 'bling' image, Christina Aguilera is set to debut her new material with a single featuring Redman, called 'Dirty'.
Again working with admired hip-hop producer Rockwilder, who produced Christina, Missy, Pink and Mya's 'Lady Marmalade', Aguilera is building on her growing reputation for being the flip-side of Britney Spears clean-cut image.
Recent public appearances have found the former teen TV star draped in jewels and sporting a b-girl nameplate reading 'X-Tina'.
Redman, who has long been a Rockwilder collaborator, will also feature in the video for 'Dirty' which wi... |

| What This Girl Wants - Aug 27, 2002 | | Christina Aguilera has beaten her own record for diva-ness. Instead of waiting on a long line for the ladies' room at a Hollywood party, the singer marched up to the attendant and announced: "I'm sick - I have to cut in line!" The worker protested, but Lady Marmalade and her pals butted ahead anyway and monopolized the locked facility for 20 minutes. Wait, it gets worse. On her way out, she snapped at the attendant: "You were SO rude!" At least when Christina had to use the bathroom again later, she apologized and handed the attendant a $100 tip.... |

| Eminem Booed At MTV Awards - Aug 30, 2002 | Rapper Eminem provided the biggest shocker at the MTV Video Music Awards on Thursday night - he was booed after winning the award for best male video for "Without Me."
The tension started when his nemesis, Christina Aguilera, presented him with the award. Aguilera looked like she wanted to drop it on the floor rather than put it in his hand.
Then, Eminem took a pot shot at another one of his favorite targets, techno artist Moby, calling the artist a girl (Moby irritated Eminem last year by criticizing his lyrics as misogynist).
Then the boos from the audience began.
