Justin & Christina, togetherJun 04, 2003

She's been corn-rowed, frizzed, blond and brunette. He's tried shaggy, curly and shaved. Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake, both 22, have experimented with every trend known to mankind's hairstylists.

All signs indicate she'll be dark brunette and he'll be closely cropped when the singers kick off their summer-long Justified and Stripped tour tonight in Phoenix.

No one doubts the marketing genius behind combining the tours. These two young pop stars have spent half their lives in the public eye, sharing all the growth spurts and tantrums associated with growing up.

This summer isn't their first artistic collaboration. They met in 1992, when both were prepubescent Mouseketeers on the Disney Channel's All-New Mickey Mouse Club. It was quite an exclusive club: Timberlake's 'N Sync bandmate JC Chasez got his pop start in the club, too, along with Timberlake's ex, Britney Spears.

Now all grown up, Aguilera will take the stage during the tour for some Dirrty dancing to show off her voluptuous new figure, a stark contrast to the super-skinny look she had in many of her earlier videos. "I love my curves," she unapologetically tells Rolling Stone in the June 26 issue.

Still unknown is whether the two pop stars will generate any onstage (or backstage?) heat together during their summer fling. Or can ticket-holding fans expect two back-to-back and very separate concerts? They both hint they may do duets later in the tour, and they've even bandied about the idea of reworking Timberlake's hit Rock Your Body. Perhaps a rendition of Mickey Mouse Club for old times' sake?

Timberlake has pooh-poohed suggestions that teaming up with Aguilera is a dig at his pop-diva ex. "I'd never do anything just for spite," he told The (Portland) Oregonian. Aguilera tells Rolling Stone that Timberlake "and Britney made a great couple. ... I have a feeling that there's going to be some reconciliation."

The 45-date arena tour ends Aug. 24 in St. Paul and includes stops in Los Angeles, June 16-17; New Orleans, July 8; Chicago, July 23; Boston, Aug. 5-6; and Washington, D.C., Aug. 19.
