 Christina cancels last two U.K. Tour dates | Type: Internet Article |

Christina Aguilera won't be getting Dirrty with British audiences.
The pop diva canceled the final two concerts of her U.K. tour Monday, pleading acute bronchitis.
"I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience caused, but my doctor has ordered me to my bed, and told me I cannot perform for at least 10 days," the singer said.
It's the latest in a series of Xtina's career moves that seem to mimic the actions of fellow former Mouseketeer Britney Spears.
Britney also canceled a handful of Euro-shows last month after she was struck by a mysterious ailment that led to her hopping a flight home to Louisiana to be cared for by her mother.
Interestingly enough, both popsters had recently swapped spit with Madonna onstage at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
Coincidence? We think not.
Christina managed to host the MTV Europe Music Awards last week before succumbing to viral infection; Britney was forced to drop out of the awards show ahead of time due to her own STD (singer transmitted disease).
Let's not forget--it was Britney who kissed Madonna first, followed by Christina.
Other notable first-Britney, then-Christina endeavors include partnerships with their fellow Mouseketeer alum, Justin Timberlake, who first dated Britney, then toured with Christina.
Then there's Skechers shoes, endorsed first by Britney, then by Christina, following a falling-out between Brit and the company.
Donatella Versace kept the trend alive when she first called Britney her inspiration in Fall 2002, then named Christina as her muse in Spring 2003.
Then there's the cola wars--first Britney was signed as the face of Pepsi, then Christina inked a deal as the Coke girl.
Though both pop princesses have denied rivalry rumors in the past, it's hard to overlook the oft-similar twists and turns of their career paths.
Ironically, Christina has strong words for those she feels follow too closely in her footsteps--namely Pink.
"When has Pink not been copying me?" she huffed in a recent interview with London's Mirror, when asked what she thought of the singer's recent girl-on-girl action with Terminator 3 star, Kristanna Loken at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo.
"In her fashion and so on, it's always like 'Gosh, I just wore that last week.'"
Speaking of what Xtina does and doesn't wear, the popster is actually offended that she didn't make People's worst-dressed list this year--a list she usually tops.
"Why wasn't I on it? Is it because now I'm a Versace poster girl they don't put me on it?" the songstress carped to the Mirror. "That's not fair. The fashion world is a bunch of nonsense anyway."
The Stripped gal just picked up the award for Best Female during her hosting gig at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Next month, barring any further viral complications, she's scheduled to continue her tour with dates in Japan and Australia. |
