"Beautiful" remix garners awardsType: Internet Article

Peter Rauhofer's Life is BeautifulDec 08, 2003

Few artists worldwide have contributed and achieved as much as Peter Rauhofer. The Austrian born, NYC based producer/remixer/dj/label owner has remixed everyone from Depeche Mode to Madonna, hosted NYC's best club nights like the Roxy, helped more than 35 records reach Number One on the Billboard charts and earned countless awards including the highest, a Grammy for Remixer of the Year in 2000 followed by a second nomination in 2001. Rauhofer won the NYC HX Awards 2003 for Best Deejay of the Year and Best Dance Song of the Year with Christina Aguilera's, 'Beautiful'. Just last week, Rauhofer's remix was nominated for Best Remix in the 2004 Grammy Awards.

Following the 80's dance music explosion, Rauhofer secured an 8 year, A&R position at Austrian label GIG/BMG as well as being one of Vienna's top djs and he introduced Kruder to Dorfmeister. Under the pseudonym Club 69, Rauhofer's first single "Let Me Be Your Underwear" was followed by a move to NYC in 1995 and chart hits "Adults Only" and "Style" and countless remix requests and dj tours. In early 1999, Rauhofer launched Star 69 in conjunction with AOL/Time-Warner's London-Sire division with Pet Shop Boys, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Yoko Ono, Lula, house diva Suzanne Palmer and underground sensation Celeda as just a few of the signed artists.

Rauhofer has done numerous remixes for Madonna, Whitney Houston, Depeche Mode, Cher, Donna Summer, Jennifer Lopez, Seal and Annie Lennox. He has also recorded under several other pseudonyms including Size Queen, House Heroes, Magic Cucumbers and the revived, Collaboration. Recent projects include a chill/lounge compilation with the trendy NYC/Miami eatery, "Cafeteria" and Rauhofer has personally designed Star 69's yellow cab packaging and promotional material.

Rauhofer: 'When you live in Europe and watch the US dance scene it seems very untouchable but over the years I've realized that it's not that hard to step into it and make some noise. I used to revere producers from afar, but now I feel like one of the family. That's something that makes me very happy. '
