Madonna and Britney Spears are planning to re-stage their now infamous kiss, according to press reports.
The Pop Queen and Princess are apparently eager to recreate the buzz that surrounded the original kiss, which took place at the start of the year.
Then, it was part of a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, which included Britney and Christine Aguilera rolling around the stage in wedding dresses, before the Material Girl emerged in a tuxedo.
According to The Sun, Madonna is keen to rope Britney in to her current world tour, and has asked her to appear at her up coming shows in New York. As well as performing together, they are also apparently looking to snog for a whole new audience.
“Britney was delighted when Madonna asked her if she could join her on stage," a source told the newspaper.
"They got loads of reaction the first time they kissed. She agreed to do it immediately. Their people have been faxing and e-mailing non-stop to sort things out. Everything was confirmed last week."
The appearance could do well to help Britney's current career woes. Despite shooting to number one with her last single Toxic, her UK tour has received harsh criticism after it emerged she was miming.
As well as apparently running of stage in tears most nights, the pop starlet recently hurt her knee while filming a new video, and had to postpone some shows.
Meanwhile, Christina Aguilera has hinted she would be keen to also take part in a recreation; as long as she got to kiss Britney this time.
"I'd kiss a girl again," she said in an interview last year.
"The Madonna thing was a one-off but girls are nice to kiss - nice and soft. I was up for kissing Britney but Britney wasn't." |
