| CARLOS MIELE, who kick started his international catwalk career in London before jetting off to set up shop in New York, now has his eye on Hollywood. The 40-year-old Brazilian designer, who sold 50 dresses costing approximately $3,000 dollars each at a Saks Fifth Avenue trunk show this week told Womens Wear Daily that he wants to open his next freestanding store in LA. "Sometimes the celebrities are more important than the catwalk," said the man who has already cultivated ongoing relationships with Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and Natalie Cole. But Miele, who also counts photography, dancing and film making among his considerable talents, isn't giving up on New York after four seasons of showing there. "New York is a window for America, which is going to be my biggest market," he went on." |
