June 21, 2004 06:21 PM - Soon-to-be defunct jam band Phish (news | CDs) has announced that its upcoming camping and music festival in Coventry, VT, has sold out.
The group, via a message on its website, is urging those without tickets to stay away from the event. "There will be no tickets sold at the gates," the statement reads. "People without tickets will be turned away. Unless all passengers in a vehicle have tickets, the vehicle will be turned away."
Phish announced last month that Coventry--a two-day music and arts festival on Aug. 14-15 on the grounds of the Newport State Airport and adjacent fields--will mark its final performance.

Paul McCartney (news | CDs) performed before about 50,000 fans at Palace Square in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Sunday (7/20).
The show--McCartney's first in St. Petersburg and his second ever in Russia--reportedly began 90 minutes later than scheduled due to tight security.
Last year, the ex-Beatle performed a concert in Moscow's Red Square.

Some fans who purchased tickets to Christina Aguilera (news | CDs)'s canceled summer tour via her fan club are still awaiting refunds.
FansRULE, the company that sold various premium packages for the tour, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November, and can't pay back the money.
"FansRULE is continuing to negotiate for additional financing, but has not yet obtained any formal lending commitments," said a statement posted last week on the Aguilera fan-club site Xposed. "FansRULE regrets that the refunds for the canceled Christina Aguilera 2004 tour cannot be paid at this time. What should be made clear is that the inability to refund payments made for tickets is in no way the fault of Christina Aguilera. We understand that this puts a great many of you in a difficult situation, and are hopeful for a speedy resolution to this problem."
Aguilera canceled her planned summer tour in April due to strained vocal cords.

Diana Ross (news | CDs) is set to play a free Thursday (6/24) concert at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, CT.
Tickets to the show are free, but 300 passes to a post-show reception with Ross are being sold for $250. Proceeds from the passes will benefit the Arch Street Teen Center, which is adjacent to the park. |
