BRITNEY Spears has sparked rumours she is pregnant by buying a swimming costume in a MATERNITY shop.
The singer, who is desperate to be a mum, ordered a snazzy £18 number in the posh boutique.
She then asked staff if there were any other nearby shops for mums to be.
Shopper Jenny Dyke, 25, who was in the store, said: “She spent 20 minutes in the changing rooms.
“I don’t know why anybody would try on clothes for pregnant women unless they are expecting themselves.”
Britney went into Babystyle in Santa Monica, California, with two minders who asked for the doors to be shut while she looked around.
She eventually ordered a low-cut two-piece tankini — a vest with bikini bottoms — which was out of stock.
Britney, 23, has made no secret of her obsession to be a mum after marrying dad-of-two Kevin Federline, 26, last year.
She even dresses up her dogs as babies and has got them COTS.
Britney is also looking to end her feud with Christina Aguilera, it emerged yesterday.
She has written to her fellow diva asking for a truce and saying how beautiful she is. |

there i a reason why she's doing this. not for the friendship.
otherwish she woulded answer that letter that Xtina wrote a long time ago

| DirrtyGirl679: Maybe she knows her carreer is pretty much coming to an end and she knows how big of a celeb Xtina is now, and maybe she thinks it'll help her.
