Nike and Planet Fitness recently launched Nike ‘Lets Dance’ classes at Planet Fitness gyms countrywide.

The classes will be held at least three times a week, and will combine Ragga Jam, Latin and Hip-Hop sequences, as put together by celebrity choreographer Jamie King, who has worked with stars such as Madonna, Pink, Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin.

To launch the new classes, the Nike Dance Event was held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Friday 1 April, which saw more than 2,000 dance-inspired South Africans step to the beat with a variety of local and international dancers, including French-Algerian dance phenomenon Sofia Boutella, the face of Nike’s dance television commercial.

The evening also featured South Africa’s very own award winning choreographer and well-known television celebrity Somizi, who battled it out against Sofia in an ‘Africa versus Europe’ dance-off.

For more information on the Nike ‘Lets Dance’ classes, members are advised to check the timetable at their local Planet Fitness gym.
