The sometimes classy, sometimes trashy Christina Aguilera returns to town March 19 for a headlining gig at the Xcel Energy Center.
Tickets are $87 and $57 and will go on sale at noon Saturday through Ticketmaster.
Aguilera began her career as a squeaky-clean pop star before moving into more sexually explicit areas with her 2002 disc "Stripped," which she promoted by hitting the road for a dual-headlining tour with Justin Timberlake. (It stopped at the X in September 2003.)
With her latest album "Back to Basics," Aguilera put her clothes back on and incorporated big-band-era flourishes into the mix in an attempt to refocus attention on her voice.
The Pussycat Dolls — memorably dubbed "international singing prostitutes" by comedian Ali G at the MTV Europe Video Music Awards — open the show.
In other tour news, the Guns N' Roses Dec. 2 date at the Target Center will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday through Ticketmaster. Tickets are $76.75, $49.75 and $39.75. Sebastian Bach will open the show. Word is that the band, which features former Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson, will finally release the decade-in-the-making "Chinese Democracy" by the end of the year.
Also, the reunited New York Dolls will hit the road this fall for the band's first full-fledged headlining tour in more than 30 years. They'll play the Fine Line Music Cafe Nov. 14. Ticket prices will be announced soon. |
