Take a look at music videos that are so hot they will melt even the most solid T - May 01, 2007
CHRISTINA AGUILERA – “Dirrty”: Christina, at the start of her career, just like Britney, kept her virgin state, but with time she revealed that this type of style does not bring a lot of money, so she turned to more explicit lyrics, and videos. The real proof of this is the video for “Dirrty” which was directed by the Rolling Stones photographer, David LaChapelle.

The video was banned in Thailand, because it allegedly contained banners with offensive writing in the Thai language.

Christina Aguilera's latest Tour Traipses The Globe With A Nod To Jazz And Blues

Christina Aguilera has been strutting her dirty stuff all winter and spring for her Back to Basics tour in support of her album of the same name, which features a more jazz- and blues-infused sound than her earlier work. Aguilera gets credit for ambition, at least (Raleigh Review)Type: Review
Aguilera gets credit for ambition, at least - May 02, 2007
Imagine Patti LaBelle decided that she wanted to be U2, and that's where Christina Aguilera is nowadays. Like R&B legend LaBelle, Aguilera has a massive voice that's prone to oversinging. And like U2, she invokes musical icons with a please-take-me-seriously earnestness that can border on desperate.

That makes Aguilera's current album "Back to Basics" (RCA Records) her version of U2's "Rattle and Hum," a self-conscious roots move she hasn't quite earned yet. But she deserves credit for ambition and trying to stretch. That also goes for Aguilera's live show, which playe...

All-American dolls - May 03, 2007
They may look and sound sexy, but Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani have embraced old-time values. Think June Cleaver in a garter belt.

Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani weren't always so pure, so good, so gosh-darn American.

Once, they were Bad Girls.

Christina, the former Mouseketeer, longed to be Xtina, to abandon the "Christ" and embrace the sin. "Sorry, I'm not a virgin, " she sang.

Gwen, the tank-topped tomboy, longed to break free, to strut her independence. "I'm in the mood, so come on and give it up, " she sang.

Then a funny thing happened: On t...

Basics with a new shine - May 04, 2007
Christina Aguilera says one thing that has always impressed her about jazz and blues singers of earlier generations -- such as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald or Etta James -- is their ability to affect listeners with the pure power of their voices and the way they convey lyrics and music.

"Nowadays, sort of anybody can make a record," Aguilera said in a recent teleconference. "It's so easy to enhance a vocal just by using technology that, you know, it does make the old singers sound even more real just because they had to be able to do it (naturally). They had to be able to mo...

Aguilera Showcases 'Back To Basics' Music - May 05, 2007
Perhaps only in the world of pop music could a show this splashy and entertainingly excessive be dubbed "Back to Basics."

But if Christina Aguilera's tour is no more stripped down than the 2006 album with which it shares a name, her music shows heartening signs of looking back to the basics - R&B, blues, soul and gospel.

That, more than the choreography or costume changes, was why her performance Friday night before a St. Pete Times Forum crowd of 11,538 was a success.

Even when she was piping out teen pop such as "Genie in a Bottle," Aguilera's vocal talents were ev...

Aguilera Goes 'Back to Basics' on Tour - May 06, 2007
The diverse audience of 11,538 at the St. Pete Times Forum Stadium in Tampa on Friday night didn't seem to expect Christina Aguilera to take the stage wearing roll-on glitter, ready to help them reminisce days when she was merely a "genie in a bottle," cooing along to canned pop background music.

In fact, they had enough of a 1990s flashback with performances by the concert's opening lusty girl groups Danity Kane and The Pussycat Dolls, who flexed and stretched their way through acrobatic motions suitable for the flashiest of Las Vegas showgirls and seedy corner cabaret dancers.

Herald entertainment writer Scott Kara blogs from the United States as he catches some of the world's hottest music acts on a tour that includes the Coachella Music Festival in La Quinta, Palm Springs, USA.

Christina Aguilera is standing on stage in front of me. I can only see her silhouette but it's her alright. Christina and Britney sure have come a long way from their pop chart debuts - May 09, 2007
Ten years ago, if anyone said that Christina Aguilera would be the pop diva on top and Britney Spears would be the bald, rehabilitated has-been, I would have laughed. Seriously.

In Britney's defense, she has cumulatively built two years of marriage, albeit a little over 24 hours to one man and just shy of two years to the now infamous, 'K-Fed'.
