CHRISTINA Aguilera only agreed to promote her new Greatest Hits album if she could give her classic songs a makeover.

The mega-piped chanteuse released Keeps Getting Better: A Decade Of Hits this week.

Christina said: “I felt strongly that I had to reinvent some of the old tracks and give the fans something fresh, so I re-recorded a handful.

“There’s new songs and new versions of Beautiful and Genie In A Bottle, which is now called Genie 2.0.”

Aguilera, 27, teamed up with legendary hitmaker Linda Perry, 43, best known for collaborations with Pink, 29, and Gwen Stefani, 39, to work on brand new material.

She said: “It’s a taste of things to come because these new recordings are in the vein of the next studio album.
“It’ll be short and sweet compared to my last record.

“Linda helped me play around with different sounds.

“When you hear the new recordings people are like, ‘Linda did that?’, because it’s a very futuristic sound.”

Also on Christina’s collaborative hit-list are electronically inclined acts Goldfrapp and Ladytron but her biggest inspiration right now is the late artist Andy Warhol.

The singer confessed: “I’m really into the whole Pop Art scene of the 60s and 70s artists like Andy Warhol. That style has really influenced my music.

“You can expect more of the same vibe next year. My sound, my new look, it’s all about playfulness and having fun.”
The babe is amazed that she’s spent 10 years in the pop business.

Christina said: “I have to take a step back and pinch myself because I’m still only 27. I’m really proud of my decade of hard work. A lot of pop stars don’t last the distance.”

Here’s to the next 10 years Christina.
