 Don't you love the mellow Christina Aguilera? She talks music, motherhood, and maturity in the new issue of Marie Claire!
It's been a long time since Christina was getting "Dirty," rocking dread locks, and going by X-Tina. She's now been married for four years to Jordan Bratman, has a two-year-old son Max, and is coming out with a new, more mellow album, Bionic. The ballad singer and performer tells Marie Claire in the February issue, "I had a really hard time being light before [I was a mother]. I'd get a little weird about it being too cliché. My first record was very clichéd pop - what everyone else wanted."
But, she says, her new album “is just about the future — my son in my life, motivating me to want to play and have fun.”
So, what are Christina’s words of advice for staying grounded, even while being one of the most famous faces of the decade? “In this crazy business, it’s so easy to build up a lot of walls and a lot of bitterness. And it’s just no way to be.”
