Christina Aguilera under Cher's wing on film set | Type: Internet Article |

It must be daunting to star in your first movie.
But who better to ease Christina Aguilera into the Hollywood life than Oscar-winning actress Cher, who co-stars with the singer in upcoming film Burlesque.
Clearly revelling in her acting success as she took 29-year-old Christina under her wing, Cher looked happy and content as the pair shot scenes together in Los Angeles.
The musical film, which tells the story of a burlesque club called The Burlesque Lounge, sees Christina's small town character Ali unveil her amazing voice in the venue, owned by Cher's character, former dancer Tess.
And it seems the mentor role has transferred from the silver screen to reality, as Cher was seen giving Christina tips and hints in between shooting scenes.
However, it was Cher's appearance that caused the most excitement on the Hollywood streets where the filming was taking place.
In stark contrast to recent photographs showing the star wrapped up against the cold, and consequently looking somewhat similar to an extra from Pirates of the Caribbean, Cher looked sleek and sophisticated on the set.
Appearing vastly younger than her 63 years, Cher wore an outfit of black trousers, a black vest top and black jacket with a silver trim for the filming.
In keeping with her character, Christina wore a younger costume of blue sweater, black mini skirt and high heels.
Burlesque will be Christina's first foray into film.
But the Grammy-award winning singer, who has had cameo appearances in TV shows such as 'Beverly Hills, 90120', has never made a secret of her desire to move into acting.
When asked recently what kind of films she saw herself starring in, Christina replied: 'Something edgy would be good.
'I like the kind of roles Angelina Jolie usually plays, like in Girl, Interrupted. Something with substance.'
She added: 'But I also have some ideas of my own, so maybe I'll get with a screenwriter to put them to paper.'
However, the Dirrty singer admits she has found acting a lot more difficult than she first anticipated.
She said: 'I didn't want to do something that was easy for me. But it's been quite the journey, let me tell you. Almost like training camp!'
Burlesque has an all-star cast including Stanley Tucci, Eric Dane, Alan Cumming, Cam Gigandet and Kristen Bell.
Kristen, who last year starred alongside Russell Brand in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, said it was an honour appearing in the film.
She explained: 'I have never felt so much good female energy around me. I find that I can't take my eyes off them. I'm 99 percent sure I will leave this movie a lesbian!'
It was recently revealed Cher and Christina will be presenting an award together at the 67th Annual Golden Globes in Los Angeles on January 17. |
