| After the collapse: Tour goes on; so will lawsuits - Aug 15, 2003 | The Justified/Stripped tour will apparently go on after Saturday's equipment collapse at Boardwalk Hall.
And so will the lawsuits, unless show business and the insurance business go through some radical transformation.
Steven Rosenfeld, a New York City lawyer who deals with entertainment insurance issues, said it's impossible at this point to know who will be sued - and who will be found liable - for the mishap that kept pop stars Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera from taking the Boardwalk Hall stage Saturday.
A Timberlake representative said this week that the Atlantic City show wil... |

| Theater of the adored - Aug 15, 2003 | The Justin & Christina variety show
Once upon a time, in the age before rock and roll, Americans went to theatrical musicals for their pop thrills. Now, in the tabloid age of American Idol, Behind the Music, Making the Band, and The Osbournes, we increasingly look to pop musicians for our theatrical drama, to satisfy the place in our collective imagination once filled by the great Broadway stage and Hollywood screen musicals of yesteryear. Every now and then there’s a Moulin Rouge or a Chicago, and the lights of the Great White Way haven’t dimmed, but the shows put on by blockbuster pop a... |

| Transcript: Stripped - Aug 10, 2003 | Transcript: Stripped August 10, 2003 Reporter: Chris Cuomo (20/20) Producer: Marc Dorian
RICHARD CARLETON: She was the all-American girl with an all-American success story, the working-class kid with the big voice who made the really big time. But then the nice girl-next-door turned naughty. Christina Aguilera got down and dirty with a raunchy new image and an entirely new sound. The new album was called Stripped and that pretty much described the new look too. And as Chris Cuomo reports, Christina Aguilera has now bared her soul as well, revealing for the first time all the pain of a tr... |

(Click for photos from the red carpet.)
"I hear great things [about Eminem's acting ability], I really do," Christina Aguilera insisted on her way up the red carpet. "I wouldn't be here if I didn't. I heard that the movie's great. I heard it's directed wonderfully. I heard that he's great in it, so I'm really excited."

| Christina Aguilera : Platinum Blonde - Oct 01, 1999 | Most of us were tempted to dismiss Christina Aguilera as just another young, pre-packaged, just-add-water superstar. Sure, she's got "the look." Yeah, she first made her name in that star-making factory, the new "Mickey Mouse Club." But then we really listened to her voice, and we realized that Aguilera has the makings of a true diva, someone who can back up the hype with some world-class pipes. The girl can just flat-out sing.
Her self-titled debut went straight to number one, topping Puff Daddy's "Forever;" it went gold within a week of release (and as of press... |

| TLC and Christina Are Together On Tour - 2000 | Some wags swore it'd never happen.
But sure enough, the ladies of TLC have proven them all wrong with a return to the road for the second leg of their "Fanmail" tour, the first go-round of which was plagued by poor promotion, slow sales, and much-ballyhooed intra-group squabbling.
In-fighting that was blown out of proportion by the press, as the trio insisted to MTV News' Chris Connelly when he met up with TLC for an exclusive backstage interview on the second date of their freshly relaunched road trip. T-Boz, Chilli, and Left Eye displayed their sisterly solidarity as only they ca... |

| Christina Aguilera's Inner Visions - Sep 14, 2000 | The teen pop vocalist rediscovers her Latin side on her new CD, 'Mi Reflejo'
Christina Aguilera seems too small to contain her voice. The 19-year-old singer's bare waist — so thin you'd think it could fit between two parentheses — looks too tiny to support the strong, soulful melismata that flow from her lips. In fact, Aguilera's talent seems to require more space than the teen-pop world can provide. While Mandy Moore and the like go comfortably about the business of churning out plastic pop — and Britney Spears manufactures successful distractions like her striptease at the recent MTV Vid... |

| Christina's World - Aug 16, 1999 | A new teen star has a voice that goes way beyond mere kid stuff
Sometimes the gods of pop music like to play a little joke. Browsing the aisles of a Times Square record store the other day, Christina Aguilera got quite a surprise. Unrecognized amid the hurly-burly of fellow shoppers stood one of her heroes, Fred Durst, leader of the red-hot rock-hop band Limp Bizkit. Aguilera zeroed in, angling for an autograph, but it was not to be: her quarry slipped into the crowd and scurried away. What Durst didn't know is that the petite blond with the big eyes was not just another fan but one of the m... |

The Time Digital award for silliest game peripheral has to go to the one that comes with Mattel Interactive's Barbie Magic Genie Bottle game ($40), a plastic bottle that plugs into your game port. Remove the lid and you will find a gooey, sugary treat. Well, not literally: Open the lid while playing the game and Barbie Genie will appear on your screen and compliment you — a lot. "And usually they go in two totally different directions: It's either the Britney [Spears] comparisons from people who just look at things on the surface, or I get compared to people like Mariah Carey, which is amazing, and I think that comes from [the ones] who are more aware of my vocal abilities and what I can really do."

| Smash Hits's "Beautiful" Review - Feb 2003 | In just three short years, Christina Aguilera has gone from a rather cute pop princess to a pierced, tattooed, dreadlocked, burn-bearing walking fashion disaster. But despite her progressively, erm, interesting get-up, one thing has remained constant- the strength of Christina's voice which she uses to full effect on this nicely restrained ballad. Resisting the whooping and vocal gymnastics we're used to hearing. Christina interprets "Beautiful" and gives it a whole lot of meaning with her heartfelt delivery. Not surprisingly, this is penned by Linda Perry, the ex-4 Non Blondes singe... |

| Christina on where is stuffier, the UK or the USA - Feb 2003 | Christina on where is stuffier, the UK or the USA:
Well, the UK has actually been a little bit more open-minded than the States. The song "Dirrty" has done pretty well there. I think it has more to do with the person. I haven't quite figured that one out yet... who's stuffier. but the UK is definitely received the song better. It was really really shocking for a lot of people in the States but they will get it. They will understand, the more interviews and the more times they see me talk, that this is just me and this is being 22. It's kind of surprising, too, just because I came ou... |

Despite the controversy suround her recent video for "Dirrty", this album goes to show that Aguilera truly posseses a great voice and superb talent. this new "rockier" edge that laces her music sees the pop princess trying on new music styles and adapting to them quite well, too. A track to look out for is "Loving Me 4 Me", a mellow hypnotic tune that is truly fantastic, and will likely surprise you with yet another facet to Aguilera's talent. The final hour of the 2000 Video Music Awards was all about the performers reaching out to those in the audience, with some in the crowd deciding to reach back.
