| Timberlake edges Aguilera as a pop makeover - Aug 23, 2003 | Both Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera have undergone teen-angel-no-more makeovers in the past year. The 'N Sync singer has recast himself as an R&B playa, while Aguilera's been hardening her image and adding a measure of metallic thunder to her sound.
Yet for all the hype about their stylistic upgrades, their co-headlining "Justified and Stripped" road show wasn't a radical departure from the pubescent spectacles of yore. The concert at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford on Wednesday had all the requisite heat, flash, choreography and hydraulics. T... |

| Teen queen Aguilera wants to take a bad boy to the Grammys - Jan 06, 2000 | Check out the arm of Christina Aguilera when she arrives at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 23. On it just may be fellow nominee Fred Durst. Limp Bizkit's singer is one of the teen idol's current crushes, and apparently a requited one.
"He wanted me to be his date for the MTV Video Music Awards," says Aguilera, who is nominated for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
But it was Aguilera's record company, not the nineteen-year-old singer, who nixed the idea. "They were like, 'No! No!'" Aguilera says. "But in the future, I'll probably do something like t... |

| Eminem eyes Christina, Godsmack rule Boston and more - Apr 14, 2000 | Pop princesses have really taken a drubbing this week. On Sunday, Oasis' Liam Gallagher harangued his Los Angeles audience for being Britney Spears fans, and now comes the news that Detroit rapper Eminem has taken a pot shot at Christina Aguilera in his forthcoming single, "The Real Slim Shady." According to insiders, the rapper who has trashed both his mother and former girlfriend in song, has now targeted the Florida teen, as he lyrically fanaticizes about her engaging in a sex act. Eminem's reps refuse to comment on the song, but on April 21 it will be released on radio. Eminem's ... |

| Christina goes to prom, Mellencamp goes to school and more - Apr 21, 2000 | Christina Aguilera is heading back to school next weekend, to perform at a prom. The blonde teen queen was the grand prize in a contest dubbed "Prom of Your Life" sponsored by Procter & Gamble. The winner was high school freshman Colin Shapiro, who attends Greenbrier High School, outside of Augusta, Ga. The only hitch is that only juniors and seniors may attend the prom that's set for April 28. Maybe they'll make an exception just this once . . .
CHRISTINA AGUILERA seems to be in a "Hardest Working Woman in Show Busines" contest. Currently at work with producer Rudy P... |

| Christina talks socks, sex and Spears in press conference - May 18, 2000 | "I'm kissing a sock!" shrieked Christina Aguilera. With a smooch on a green-haired wool puppet's cheek -- actually Ed the Sock, the gruff-voiced veejay on Canadian television channel MuchMusic -- Aguilera capped off an unusual press conference in Toronto Wednesday.
Preceding a performance where she played a half-dozen songs at the MuchMusic building on Queen Street, the teen pop queen held court at the Paramount. There, she was presented by BMG Music Canada executives with a four-times platinum award (400,000 sold), and for forty-five minutes the nineteen-year-old star fielded ques... |

Madonna's Music is nominated four times this year: for Record of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Recording Package.
U2's All That You Can't Leave Behind was too late to qualify for a nomination, but the first single, "Beautiful Day," was nominated three times for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

| One month after Spears signs with Pepsi, Aguilera inks Coke deal - Mar 28, 2001 | Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have extended their rivalry to the shelves of 7-11. Aguilera and Spears, who have been slugging it out on the pop charts, will now wage their battle in the Cola wars. The Grammy-winning Aguilera just signed a U.S. sponsorship deal with soft drink giant Cola-Cola, only a month after Spears inked a deal to promote Pespi. Aguilera will star in a television ad for Coke that will air this summer. Spears' first Pepsi spot debuted on the Academy Awards telecast on March 25th, and Pepsi is also underwriting her upcoming tour. The deal is not Aguilera's first asso... |

The suit seeks cost of suit damages and an injunction to stop the release of Just Be Free, a compilation of demos Aguilera recorded when she was fourteen. The album features twelve tracks, including the title track, which Aguilera worked on with defendants, producers Michael Brown and Robert Allecca at BAM Records, Inc. Included in the charges are breach of contract and appropriation of name, voice and lik... |

| Early demos to be released in August - Jul 06, 2001 | Christina Aguilera has settled her lawsuit with Warlock Records, paving the way for the release of Just Be Free, a compilation of demos she recorded when she was fourteen. The suit, filed by the pop star in May, maintained that the demos were made to shop the singer to record labels and not intended for commercial distribution. Aguilera believed that the demos are of lesser quality than the content she currently produces and therefore did not want the material released and marketed to her fans.
While the singer may have settled the suit -- the terms of which are confidential -- her opinion o... |

| Recording Academy calls off show, citing emotional, logistical obstacles - Sep 24, 2001 | The 2001 Latin Grammy Awards, originally scheduled for last Tuesday but postponed in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks, will be cancelled entirely despite efforts to reschedule, officials announced Friday.
"It is simply not practical, nor advisable, to attempt to reschedule a live international event of this magnitude," said Michael Green, president of the National Recording Academy and Latin Recording Academy. "We at the Academies all are emotionally devastated . . . and we are working as an organization to help deliver money, counseling and other human services to tho... |

Nonetheless, the singer still picked up an award for Best Female Pop Vocal Album for her Spanish language release, Mi Reflejo.

| First album since 2000 due in October - Sep 17, 2002 | Christina Aguilera will release Stripped, her first new album in two years, on October 29th. In 2000, the singer released a Spanish-language set, Mi Reflejo, and a Christmas album, My Kind of Christmas, but Stripped will be the proper follow-up to her 1999 multi-platinum self-titled debut.
"This record is definitely my baby," she told Rolling Stone earlier this summer. "Being twenty-one now, I've grown into more of what I feel like as a woman . . . I wanted to make a record that was about me completely. Nothing superficial, no hype, no gloss."

| Reviews of "Stripped," "Scarlet's Walk" and more - Oct 28, 2002 | Christina Aguilera Stripped (RCA)
It's a shame that the first single from Stripped is "Dirrty." It's hard to hear the song without conjuring up that Girls Gone Wild: Beyond Thunderdome video. And more important, "Dirrty" completely misrepresents the rest of the album. The title of Stripped screams "Look at my privates!" but the quieter message is "Be true to yourself."
With its lack of gimmickry and surplus of sweet Seventies soul, Stripped is an album for grown-ups. The sophisticated fare includes the torchy can't-let-go number "Walk Away,"... |
