Xtina And Justin Stripped To Bits? - Sep 2003
Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake have hit the road in America and the "hottest tour of the year" is turning out to be somewhat lukewarm. The duo were originally scheduled for a 60-city tour but this has since been scaled down to 45. Some of the gigs have even been moved to smaller venues because poor ticket sales. The Stripped and Justified tour also hit a snag when it tried to cross the Canadian border - the trucks carrying the equipment were held up at customs causing the Vancouver show to be cancelled at the last minute. The hold-up was apparently coz some of the truck dri...

Rock On Xtina!

Hey girlfriend! I think Christina Aguilera is going from strength to strength. She can release a single like "Dirrty" and not give a damn about what the public says. I think her recent singles, "Beautiful" and "Fighter" are really inspirational songs for teenage girls (and guys). Her lyrics are truly beautiful and she has made me into a fighter! Bright Promise Remains Undelivered - Aug 21, 2003
Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera are not only two of pop's brightest superstars, they are two of music's most promising artists - both able to construct and execute their musical visions well.

Nevertheless, Timberlake and Aguilera, both 22, are still not-quite-ready arena headliners, Grammy-winning, multiplatinum artists who need a bit more time and material before they can fulfill the necessary requirements of making a large-scale, 80-minute set work from start to finish. Though both sets have impressive moments, they also are incredibly uneven.

Spoon-faced pop nudist Christina Aguilera has worthily defended accusations that, er, she's no better than she should be.

Missus.

In an earth-shattering contretemps with German rag Amica, the bun-baring bleater squeaked: "Call me a slag, if being a slag means being a strong woman. I'll gladly be that."

OK then, here goes: "You strong woman, you."

Predictably, R'nB's answer to Razzle went on to cite tiresome Madonna and long-running Athena poster Marilyn Monroe as - yawn - role models.

She screamed: "Madonna is a tough business woman and Marilyn Monroe had all sort...

Justin TimberlakeType: Internet Article
Justin Timberlake - Jul 21, 2003
It's a name we've been hearing a lot through the past 6 years, Justin Timberlake. We all know him as one-fifth of the pop group *NSYNC, but this man has got a lot of soul.

Justin Randall Timberlake was born at St Jude's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee on January 31, 1981 to Lynn and Randy Timberlake. Randy was in a bluegrass band in town, and Justin was hearing the group practice constantly. At age 2, Justin could sing harmony, just by hearing his father. Living around the birthplace of Elvis and living down the street from Al Green, he had a lot of soul influences around him all the time.

Women In Music - Jul 26, 2003
There have been many women singers from the 70's to now. There have been very few that have touched my soul so deeply such as Karen Carpenter, Christina Aguilera, Selena and Stevie Nicks. These female singers have broken down barriers in so many ways.

Christina Aguilera has been an inspiration to me in so many different ways I don't have enough space to write all of them. So I will write a few. Her voice for one thing, how she grew up and didn't let that make her think that she couldn't be what she wanted to be, and her vocal range...from blues, to whatever you would classify “Dirrty” under.

Christina Aguilera was one of the young, hot, squeaky-clean artists when she first debuted in the music industry. But recently the world has learned that all along that was not Christina’s real self and that she could no longer pretend to be someone that she wasn’t.

Should we say that Christina’s new style is “bad” or that it is fun and an expression of her own style. Personally, I wouldn’t brand it as bad, I see it as a new way for people to look at celebrities and see that they have their own styles whether or not everyone surrounding them approves.

It seems that I’m not the only one who...

Pop Goes Pop - Apr 16, 2003
Could it be that Bubble Gum Pop's bubble finally popped? Seems like the clean-cut poppy music is finally fading into the background as, what many call it, "real" music explodes onto the scene. Listeners have moved away from the happy-sounding, contrived music the pop world and are now looking for music that isn't just sung by the artist, but written and performed. Billboard charts and newer music shows such as IMX and MTV2 are perfect examples showing how listeners are changing their taste in music and their expectations of music as a whole.

A Trend Like No Other: Music. - Apr 05, 2003
Oh, the trend that is music. From Marilyn, to Madonna, from the Beetles, to Michael, the genre of music extends wider then an ocean.

I find it very interesting how music follows different time periods. In the 20’s, it was jazz that ruled the nation. It was the “Jazz Age” and New Orleans was THE place to be. Flash forward to the 60’s where folk music was the style, and the Beatles were beginning to rule the charts. Along came the 70’s along with the "hippie" antiwar music and some more folklore. And soon it became all about disco, disco, disco.

With the approach of the 80’s, disco...

Kids these days, many parents say, grow up too quickly. Same with teen-pop idols.

It seems like it was only yesterday that Christina Aguilera was telling us about what a girl wants and 'N Sync was saying "bye bye bye" to girlish screams.

Now Aguilera is 22 and grown up. So, too, is 'N Sync star Justin Timberlake, also 22, and, like Aguilera, an alum of the new Mickey Mouse Club. The two have teamed up for the Justified and Stripped Tour, which ended Tuesday night at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
