| Junior auditioned in Atlanta for show - Sep 02, 2003 | A high school junior hopeful of becoming a star on the next “American Idol” came home to Winneconne without the golden key to fame.
Natasha Miller, 16, went down to Atlanta with her mom, Dolly Green, last week hoping to nab a spot on the televised singing competition.
“I didn’t make it past the first round,” said Miller.
After 34 hours of waiting in line with 5,000-plus potential Idols and a night curled up inside the Georgia Dome, Miller had no more than a few seconds to perform her song “A Moment Like This.”
Dolly Green said she was disappointed her daughter didn’t make the first cut.

You guys, don't even give this one a second thought. Usually when this happens, it's actually a huge compliment!! There's got to be a lot of people out there doing those songs for it to be a problem. Also, (and I'm just guessing here), after the producer went behind Christina's back and gave the song she wrote to Kelly Clarkeson, I'd imagine American Idol folks might shy away from her songs because they might be afraid the same thing would happen over again. Simply easier to avoid all the way around.

Ok, maybe that's exaggerating things slightly (and best not to lump Christina into the same bracket as Mr Bowie just yet) but every release from her 'Stripped' album to date has been completely different. She's either covering all her bases or freely experimenting. Either way it's fair play to her.
