| Genie uncorked - Aug 28, 2000 | Christina Augilera Post-Gazette Pavilion, Aug. 26
Perhaps for the first time ever, Christina Aguilera had to apologize for her voice.
"I'm sorry if I don't hit all the notes," she warned her audience hoarsely. Her sore throat was caused by talking non-stop with friends and family. After all, a lot has happened since she's been away from home.
Two hit singles and a Grammy later, Aguilera was back in town on Aug. 26 to perform along with Destiny's Child at the Post-Gazette Pavilion. Although her opening song, "Genie in a Bottle," contained more talking than singing, her... |

| Lee: Britney & Christina's Sexed Up Image Is 'Tragic' - Oct 04, 2003 | The entire interview of Evanescence singer Amy Lee with Steppin' Out magazine's Chaunce Hayden has been posted, in which Lee lashed out at the sexed up images of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Asked if she herself had been asked to sex up her own image, Lee said, "Nobody ever tells me what to wear on stage, and I doubt anybody tells them what to wear. They just feel they have to do that. It's a big tragedy. It doesn't offend me. It's just tragic. It's really sad. It's not necessary. Because if you're a talented musician, you should just work just like everybody else does. Just d... |

| CD Sales Continue to Fall - Oct 04, 2003 | The population of P2P networks remain steady and music sales continue to fall. All this despite the RIAA's intense efforts to resurrect a dying industry through litigation.
What's most interesting is that CD sales are not just falling in the United States, as sales were down by 11 percent worldwide. Even more interesting, sales continue to fall even though we’ve seen recent releases from supposed powerhouse "artists" like 50-cent and the dreaded Christina Aguilera.
While the RIAA and copyright holders are quick to blame online piracy from P2P communities such at Gnutella and Fast... |

| Jack Black film recalls an overlooked era of sweet, smart, and proudly stupid ro - Oct 05, 2003 | There's a key scene in Richard Linklater's winning new comedy, "The School of Rock," in which Jack Black, playing a classic-rock-obsessed substitute teacher, quizzes his fifth-grade charges on their musical influences. "Christina Aguilera?" pipes up one girl. "Wrong!" barks the teacher. "Puff Daddy?" offers another student. "No!" he responds, going on to invoke the name of the holiest of rawk holies: the mighty Led Zeppelin. Blank stares. "What do they teach you in this school?!," Black howls in disgust. His shock may be shared by ... |

| The angry American music response to tragedy - Sep 11, 2003 | | Flashy, ludicrous rappers such as P. Diddy, Nelly and Jermaine Dupri and irrelevant tarts such as Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera and others put aside their empty fabulousness for a moment to torture us with an overcooked version of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On." And Paul McCartney put us all to sleep with his anthem wannabe "Freedom." |

| Talking to your child about Kobe - Sep 08, 2003 | Is it still OK for your child to idolize Christina Aguilera or Tiger Woods or J.K. Rowling? Sure. Heroes are a good thing.
Perhaps the most important lesson of all about heroes is that they aren't perfect. If you think that's a hard lesson, there's an even harder one they'll learn eventually — that you aren't perfect, either. Remember that how you answer their questions about Bryant will shape their response to you — their first hero — the one whose imperfections they discover all too quickly as they grow up. |

| Bodies of Work - Oct 09, 2002 | Artist Joanne Gair's skill at turning a person into an elaborate canvas is the flowering of a unique sensibility.
Artist Joanne Gair apologizes to a guest who complains of sensory overload in her presence. "I have that effect on people," she says. She is a ball of fire in Chinese pajama pants; she is a whirling dervish, a Nepalese tonka with a million faces, a human mandala.
Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Demi Moore, Elle Macpherson, Cindy Crawford (shall we go on?)--she's painted them all. Their bodies are Gair's canvas. "I'm an illusionist," sh... |

| Stars Turn Out for Music Video Awards - Aug 28, 2003 | MTV kicked off its 20th annual Video Music Awards on Thursday by reaching into its past, as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera paid tribute to Madonna's writhing performance from the inaugural awards in a performance that was just as racy.
Dressed in the same kind of white bustier wedding dress Madonna wore during her "Like a Virgin" performance at the 1984 awards show, the pair gyrated on stage while singing that song. Then, after Madonna emerged, singing her new song "Hollywood" in an all-black outfit, she shared a kiss with both Aguilera and Spears, proving the forme... |

| Hip-hugger jeans 'could be health hazard' - Jan 09, 2003 | Trendy hip-hugger jeans could be a health hazard, doctors have warned.
The tight, low-rise trousers popularised by Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears can squeeze a sensory nerve under the hipbone and cause a tingling sensation in the thighs called paresthesia.
While the nerve damage is not too serious, the symptoms might last if the jeans are worn regularly, said Dr Malvinder Parmar, medical director at the Timmins and District Hospital in Timmins, Ontario.
He had treated three women who were suffering from the condition after wearing hip-huggers for between six and eight months.
