Summary:
"This is Christina Aguilera? Wow, she looks really dumpy here. I'll go with the thin, she looks a lot better there." |
Rene Zellweger ought to toss the diet books - and keep those dangerous curves.
That's the message from a panel of red-blooded males who say she looks better plump than in thinner days.
"She looks voluptuous and happier," said Abdoulaye Kante, a 26-year-old antiques dealer from Manhattan, admiring the photo of Zellweger in her red dress. "I saw her on David Letterman recently and she looked pretty good," Brian Lint, a 28-year-old salesman from Long Beach, told The Post. "Curvy is probably what she should look like normally." Zellweger, whose weight fluctuates wildly with movie roles, has complained about having to pork up to play accident-prone Britisher Bridget Jones.
But Sean Mackiewicz, a 22-year-old editorial assistant from Manhattan, says the extra pounds are an improvement. "She looks way too skinny in that picture," he said. "She needs to eat a couple of sandwiches."
While Hollywood stars may think thinner is better, fans don't always agree. We asked five New York men to choose between curvy and slim photos of Zellweger - and other personalities, including Uma Thurman (news), Nicole Kidman (news) and Christina Aguilera (news). The results might surprise you.
Nicole Kidman
"I like her curvy. She looks a little healthier. There are different times with her where she almost looks underfed, she doesn't look healthy - you have look a little healthy, you know? She looks healthy when she's curvy."
- Gene
Christina Aguilera:
"This is Christina Aguilera? Wow, she looks really dumpy here. I'll go with the thin, she looks a lot better there."
- Barry
Elizabeth Hurley (news):
"Curvy, I'd definitely take her curvy. She looks sexier and she's leaving more to the imagination here [curvy picture] and there's more for the imagination to see, so I'm all for it."
- Gene
Jennifer Aniston (news):
"Thin, just because of the clothes she's wearing - she's showing her hips, a little bit of her belly. It doesn't look like I want to see her belly in that one [curvy picture]."
- Sean
Brittany Murphy (news):
"Thin. Just the way she's holding herself, when she's thinner she looks a little more confident."
- Sean
Drew Barrymore (news):
"Curvy, she looks happier and like she has a great personality."- Abdoulaye
