| Christina Aguilera - Christina Aguilera - 1999 | Everyone has heard Christina Aguilera's "Genie In A Bottle"; it's played everywhere seemingly non-stop. We all know it's a huge hit, but what about the rest of the album?
On this, her self-titled album, the next track, "What A Girl Wants", is R&B flavored, Aguilera's voice saucy throughout. The chorus is catchy and contagious. "I Turn To You" is written by hit-maker Diane Warren and sounds like a Celine Dion song, but that's somehow okay since it pushes Aguilera's voice to a level I didn't dream she could achieve. Bravo. "Come On Over (All I Want Is You)... |

| Stripped - Hiponline Music Review - Oct 31, 2002 | artist: christina aguilera album: stripped label: rca rating: 8/10
Everyone seemed to wonder what happened to Christina Aguilera. The press has trashed her, she’s tried to shed her pop artist skin, and the question is whether she’s come out of it unscathed. The intro to the record shows she wants to put it all behind her.
Good: “Can’t Hold Us Down (featuring Lil’ Kim) – Aside from the stellar vocals this track is hot and lets her flex her lyrical and vocal muscles. “Walk Away” and “Beautiful” – The slow pace doesn’t take away from her chance to shine. This could keep Etta James in suspens... |

There are original Christmas songs alongside a few you know. The best original here is "Christmas Time". It has a pop beat, but also nicely mixes a more traditional Christmas décor.
The classics including the inspiring "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"... |

| Christina Criticizes MTV Censors - Jul 16, 2003 | Christina Aguilera has criticized MTV for cutting out steamy scenes from her new video "Can't Hold Us Down," featuring Lil' Kim, according to Ananova.com. "It's funny. There are all those Hip-Hop videos where women are objectified, but when a woman does it, it's a shock," she said. "It's not like Madonna hasn't been there before. It's not like you've never seen a woman who's comfortable with her sexuality and her body and with being in control of her surroundings and situation." For this week, this hot track should be our "Record to Watch." We already know what both artists are capable of in terms of writing, producing and performing hits, but this remake of the Rose Royce 70s classic fits these two like a glove. Missy and Christina just sound like they belong together. There’s no doubt that with the song included in the forthcoming Pixar film Shark’s Tale, the two may have another monster hit in the making. Didn't MTV resolve their issues during a Celebrity Death Match? | Price 'correction' could tame big-name shows - Aug 29, 2004 | Charles Blum, President, Star Plaza Theater
Charles Blum has a hunch it wasn't a knee injury that caused Britney Spears to cancel her summer concert tour. And Christina Aguilera's tour wasn't sidelined, he suspects, by strained vocal cords.
The real culprit, he says, was lousy ticket sales.
After demanding sky-high prices for popular concert tickets, the music industry is undergoing a price "correction," said Blum, president of Star Plaza Theater in Merrillville.
"The business model that has been in place no longer works," he said. "That model was: Charge what you ... |

| Patis does Britney and Christina - Aug 29, 2004 | AMERICAN pop rivals Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have gained a new follower in the person of fashion designer Patis Tesoro.
But before you raise your eyebrows, the country's acknowledged prime mover of Filipiniana fashion has a good reason to idolize the pop princesses.
And this is evident in Tesoro's latest 30-piece collection, which consisted mostly of low-slung skirts that were either layered or paneled, and cropped corsets worn under deconstructed kimonas and cotton chemises.
Despite obvious attempts to go hip, Tesoro still put a semblance of tradition in her pieces by embellis... |

| Goodykoontz - Aug 28, 2004 | The Britney-Madonna kiss was a perfect MTV moment: obviously scripted faux-spontaneity, somewhat desperate and artificially cool. Then along comes the Super Bowl halftime show, produced by, you guessed it, MTV. Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson give new meaning to the phrase "boob tube" and all of a sudden Madonna and Britney seem almost quaint. Alas, the fleeting nature of trumped-up controversy. And let us not forget poor Christina Aguilera - "Hey, I kissed Madonna, too; how come no one's talking about me?!"
