The rival pop princess described Spears’ special day as “low rent” and “pathetic.”

Spears wed Kevin Federline in a surprise ceremony last week at the home of their tailor.

“I’d never have thought that girl would have done it this way,” Britain’s Daily Star newspaper quoted Aguilera as saying.

“I know she really loves Kevin, but this is like really low rent this time. It’s surprising. The whole affair seems somewhat pathetic.”

At a regional competition held at the University Mall in Carbondale for Fox's popular reality-television talent show, 61 men and women competed for the chance for a guaranteed audition in front of the show's three judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson in San Francisco on Oct. 5, said Chuck Moffitt, promotional manager for Fox 23 out of Cape Girardeau.

After listening to renditions of songs ranging from Christina Aguilera to Alicia Keys to Leann Rimes, the four judges voted for 28-year-old Zeigler woman Deanna Morris.
