| MADONNA TO HOST TSUNAMI TELETHON - Jan 11, 2005 | Pop superstar MADONNA has agreed to host a US TV benefit show to raise money for the American RED CROSS's tsunami-relief efforts in south east Asia.
The MATERIAL GIRL - who has been attacked for donating 10,000 bottles of Kabbalah Water to areas hit by the 26 December (04) tidal wave - will take part in American TV network NBC's TSUNAMI RELIEF TELETHON on 15 January (05).
She will be joined by DIRRTY singer CHRISTINA AGUILERA, soul star DIANA ROSS, rockers MAROON 5 and actors including GEORGE CLOONEY, KEVIN SPACEY and UMA THURMAN.... |

The newlywed pop princess has written a letter to her rival, suggesting they become friends.
“The letter went on about how pretty and rested Aguilera looks lately,” says an insider, who adds that Spears may have an ulterior motive.
“Britney really wants to get into production and become a major music mogul,” says the insider. “She figures that a shrewd businesswoman needs all the friends she can get — and there’s no point having Christina as an enemy.”... |

| Brighton rock: the Seagulls' South Coast sound kicks up a storm - Jan 12, 2005 | Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and U2 have something in common this week. They are all being beaten by Brighton and Hove Albion.
Specifically, the team outselling them in the charts is made up of Brighton supporters, rallied by the punk poet Attila the Stockbroker, who have re-recorded the classic Eighties anthem "Tom Hark" to highlight their club's urgent struggle for a new stadium in nearby Falmer. Sales have already topped 3,000, enough to see the reworked version establish itself at No 17 in Sunday's Radio One chart countdown.
