| Piercings for girls aged nine - Jul 19, 2005 | PRIMARY school children have been contacting body jewellery experts to ask for intimate areas to be pierced.
Girls as young as nine have been in touch with at least one town centre studio to ask for their nipple rings. And there has also been a summer holiday surge in the number of youngsters turning up at studios to ask for nose studs.
Body piercers believe the increase is down to school holidays – and youngsters trying to emulate pop stars such as Christina Aguilera.

| Some students pan a high school dress code requiring a particular style of skirt - Jul 18, 2005 | The new policy, which applies to grades 9-12 and was detailed in a pamphlet sent to parents recently, is aimed at shielding the student body from a "highly sexualized popular culture" that has infiltrated the Manoa campus via the bare midriffs and other suggestive styles exhibited by some Punahou girls.
More and more schools across Hawaii, both public and private, are grappling with the same issue as the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have pushed the female fashion envelope. Many now have rigid dress policies or outright uniforms.

| Set reminds fans of innocent days - Jul 15, 2005 | Even as kids, Britney Spears could dance, Christina Aguilera could belt out a song and Justin Timberlake had stage presence. Want proof? Check out the new release of the 1989 Mickey Mouse Club: The Best of Britney, Justin, and Christina.
Some may want to watch it for the Mickey Mouse Club skits, musical numbers and a really cool close-up of a baby alligator. But the DVD is clearly marketed to the trio's fans. The main DVD extra is a highlights option that cuts to the Britney, Justin and Christina segments.

| Aguilera donates scanners to police - Jun 09, 2005 | Late last month, Allegheny County Police Officer Carmella Falchetti found a lost dog while patrolling North Park.
Fortunately, after seeing the dog's photo in the North Journal, he was reunited with his owner.
Not all lost dogs are so fortunate.
If an animal is found without a tag or collar, they are typically turned over to animal control. If after 48 hours no one has called looking for them, they are destroyed.
But thanks to one Wexford native, many lost pets may be quickly reunited with their owners.
