| Christina Aguilera praises Paris Hilton's musical efforts - Sep 27, 2006 | Washington, Sept 27: Pop star Christina Aguilera has lauded rival Paris Hilton’s efforts for trying her hand at music.
In August this year the hotel heiress launched a serious bid at a music career with her debut pop album ‘Paris’ that was panned by critics and musicians alike.
However, Aguilera insisted that new artists are always "welcome" in the industry, and lent Hilton her full support.

Aguilera's second CD was called Stripped, suggesting a bare, lean sound. It was in fact an everything and the kitchen sink, bloated swamp of diva excess. Enjoyable in a certain light, but the name was misleading.
Back To Basics though, that's a clear declaration of an intent to cut the fat and smoke and mirrors and go for a raw, minimal aesthetic on her third outing. Only this premise isn't even attempted- the record is just as overladen as Stripped was. 22 songs over 2 CDs doesn't really gel with the idea of simp... |
