 Pop singer Christina Aguilera, who makes her theatrical film and musical debut as the lead character in Steve Antin’s Burlesque, has undergone frequent weight fluctuations in the past. Years after describing weight she put on after her engagement to Jordan Bratman as “love chub,” Aguilera stated that she felt a “sense of accomplishment” after losing 40 pounds she gained during her pregnancy.
At the Los Angeles County Museum of Art over the weekend, the singer appeared curvier than ever in a form-fitting gown that displayed an astonishing disparity from her recently svelte figure, UsMagazine.com reports. Aguilera, 29, who was criticized earlier this year for appearing rail thin, told the U.K.’s Company two months ago, “We shouldn’t be ashamed of our bodies.”
A source told the U.K.’s Daily Mail, “It’s bizarre Christina has put on so much weight as she’s been doing lots of dancing and high energy work for Burlesque. The whole movie is choreography and she was very active so I’m surprised she’s piled on the pounds so quickly.”
