Becoming a Mouseketeer was the 'happiest moment in my life,' says newcomer Christina Aguilera. The 12-year-old performer says she's 'looking forward to everything on the 'Mickey Mouse Club,'' and hopes that 'kids will learn to pursue their goals from watching the show.' She lives by her life's philosophy, 'The roughest road often is the one that leads straight to the top.' With a myriad of outstanding accomplishments, the road for Christina seems all but rough.
At the age of 8, Christina, who is fluent in both English and Spanish, appeared on 'Star Search' as a junior vocalist. She then began acting, singing, and dancing on various television and radio shows. She has also sung national anthems at Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins games. Raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Christina truly appreciates the support she receives from her mother, Shelly, and sister, Rachel, age 7.
She also works hard to maintain a straight A average and says science and English are her favorite subjects. In her spare time, Christina likes to play softball and volleyball and attend sporting events. She also loves to shop for clothes, watch movies, hang out with friends, and listen to the music of her favorite musicians, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston.
